Today was the big day, the day that George finally dipped his toes (and the rest of him) for the first time!

It was such an amazing experience for Natalie, George and I and one that we won't ever forget.

It has been such a roller coaster since George arrived into the world.

The baby child we were longing for almost didn't make it, but thankfully he has the heart of a lion, he was strong and brave and ensured that he took that first breath. He was destined to enrich the lives of not just Natalie and I but an awful lot more.

He has touched so many hearts. Family, Friends, Health care professionals, people we have never even met. He really is amazing!

200+ donors on GoFundMe speak volumes for how special the little baby boy, I'm so fortunate to call my son actually is.

He fought the fight of his life to be here with us. We don't know how long we will have him but we owe him so much for fighting so hard, and now it's our turn. Our turn to fight to provide him with everything he deserves to live a happy and pain free life.

A fight that sometimes feels overwhelming and impossible but we are determined and will fight with every fibre of our beings.

During George's first ever hydrotherapy session at Hopehouse hospice, the physio explained the benefits and the impact that the water would provide for him.

Hydrotherapy would give George the best chance of being able to stand independently and possibly walk one day.

The hospital had told us George that would never be able to stand or walk but now we have a tool in our toolbox to help maybe prove the hospital wrong.

This led us to the anxious moment of clicking submit to make the GoFundMe page live. What a life changing decision that proved to be.

Natalie and I can't really believe where we are today, we have provided George with a hydrotherapy session from the comfort of our own home. He worked hard on his exercises and even started to pedal his legs independently.

This day has arrived partly due to the help of the wonderful people on GoFundMe, but also a lot of hard work from family, friends, contractors and building suppliers.

So many people have been part of this amazing journey and we are so humbled by it.

Over 200 people have helped provide financial backing through GoFundMe. All willing to donate hard earned money to help the plight of our little miracle.

Tradesmen have stood crying at George's story when they have turned up to quote for work. His story has been re-told to suppliers who in turn kindly donated materials free of charge. The Tradesmen, keen to make a difference have donated their time and services free of charge.

I really hope that if you have read this far that you continue to follow George's journey. It is our dream for George to one day stand and hopefully thanks to a lot of kind people, this dream will become a reality.

In a world that is often full of selfishness, hatred and anger we have been fortunate to experience the kind side of humanity and it is not wasted on us.

THANKYOU ALL!
